Achievements

  • The ASOP programme was shortlisted for a 2020 Nature Research Award for Inspiring & Innovating Science (https://tinyurl.com/34ky2rcj)
  • and was celebrated during an event at the Scottish Parliament in 2019 on tackling gender equality in science internationally (https://tinyurl.com/456yc3s5).
  • Dr. Esther Kanduma, the ASOP Coordinator in Kenya has been identified as a champion of Women in Science and invited to serve as a committee member of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP).
  • Dr. Esther Kanduma has also been invited to present a talk on the ASOP activities in Kenya during the international congress of Parasitology conference (ICOPA2022; https://icopa2022.org/) organized by the World Federation of Parasitologists to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark in August 2022.
