Beneficiary: Bohra Primary School
Bohra Primary School serves very needy children from around Westlands and Kabete Constituencies. During this year’s International Women’s Day whose theme was: #PressforProgress, the Kenyan Chapter of African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (KeAWARD) driven by collective action and shared responsibility joined the rest of the world to empower women of all settings and play a purposeful part in pressing for gender parity and make a positive difference for women and girls. Through its Agriculture and Environment theme, the Chapter organized a tree planting and role modeling activity at Westlands and Bohra Primary Schools in Westlands Constituency, Nairobi.
The members joined the pupils in the school to plant over a hundred trees of different species. As a build-up to the official launch of KeAWARD in November 2018, the Agriculture and environment theme of the Chapter organized a follow-up at the school
